@Michael That did indeed answer my question. I'm not sure I'll use it, though. I've recently switched to using Bloglines to follow my professional and busines related blogs, and I don't think there's a similar tool for that. Which could be a good thing. Thinking more about it, I get enough feeds that a Growl every time one came in would be a bit much, Better to check for updates during breaks.

Thanks, though, for the info!

@Matt

My rss-reader of choice is googleReader.

there is a third-party app for the mac (maybe windows too) called, ironically enough, Reader Notifier. :)

Reader notifier is "growl-aware"

voila, everytime there's an update to my subscriptions at googleReader, Reader Notifier is made aware, and everytime Reader Notifier becomes aware of something, growl pops-up and notifies me.

Yes, it can be distracting, and truth be know, a bit overkill. Reader Notifier has menubar placement, so a simple quick glance at the menubar and i know how many updates there have been.

Let me know if this answered your question.

Michael

I'm curious: How are you using Growlr to notify you of blog updates? Because that could be darned handy. Or darned distracting...
